Manure truck accident sends two to the hospital

Town of Charlton - An accident involving a liquid manure truck closed State Route 67 for several hours on Wednesday.

The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office say 21 year-old Steven Fulk of Galway was hauling a liquid manure truck near Peaceable Street when the rear axle and dual wheels unlatched from the rear of the truck became airborne, striking a car traveling in the opposite direction.

The driver of the car, 77 year-old Murray McComas and his passenger Marie McComas were transported to Saratoga Hospital with minor injuries.

The eastbound lane of Route 67 was closed for several hours to remove the vehicle.

Fulk was ticketed for operating an overweight vehicle and equipment and license violations.
