RECALL: White-Rodgers Thermostats

A Manufacturer of heating and cooling Thermostats is initiating a recall after the battery may cause a fire hazard.

White-Rodgers is recalling four models of their brand of thermostats after receiving reports of burn damage from leaking alkaline batteries.

Consumers should check thermostats for battery icon on the left side of the blue illuminated screen.

The company states that if the battery icon is not shown,  to contact White-Rodgers to receive a free repair or a replacement thermostat.

The recall affects about 740,000 in the United States and over 400,000 in Canada. The units were sold from January 2006 through December 2013

The thermostats are white with blue illuminated screens and have one of the following names printed on the front of them:
