Snowstorm Well Underway - Periods of Heavy Snow and Difficult Travel into Tonight

Snowfall rates of 1" to at times 2" per hour are likely this afternoon and this evening across most of the area as low pressure passes to the region's south.  This will cause rapid accumulations and low visibility producing hazardous travel conditions.  The storm will begin winding down after 10-11pm with accumulating snow ending from west to east between 1am and 4am Thursday. Locals schools evacuated due to bomb threat

WATERVLIET -- The Watervliet Junior and Senior High Schools were evacuated on Monday due to a bomb threat.

A threat was called in to the Watervliet Police Department on Sunday night. The threat was deemed 'not credible,' but extra safety measures were put in place on Monday.

A second bomb threat was called in to the WPD on Monday morning. Based on that call, police recommended the district evacuate the building. According to the school district's website, the students are being transported off-site to the Dome, where parents can pick them up.
