Police investigating ATV crash in Vermont

CORINTH, VT - Vermont State Police are investigating an ATV crash in Corinth on Saturday.

Police say 22-year-old Joshua Briere lost control of his ATV and struck a tree.  According to police he was traveling too fast around a curve on Ryder Road.  Police say that by the time police arrived at the scene Briere had fled after being picked up by other ATV riders.

According to police a short time later EMS crews were called to a residence on Route 25 where Briere had been transported to.  Troopers were able to execute a search warrant on him in order to obtain a blood sample for suspicion of DUI.

Police have determined that he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.  Briere suffered serious head injuries and is currently listed in intensive care according to police.
