Snowstorm Well Underway - Periods of Heavy Snow and Difficult Travel into Tonight

Snowfall rates of 1" to at times 2" per hour are likely this afternoon and this evening across most of the area as low pressure passes to the region's south.  This will cause rapid accumulations and low visibility producing hazardous travel conditions.  The storm will begin winding down after 10-11pm with accumulating snow ending from west to east between 1am and 4am Thursday. Veterans honored with honor flight

ALBANY - Fifty World War II veterans departed from Albany International Airport on Saturday morning for an honor flight.

The flight, which was presented by Leatherstocking Honor Flight, flew the veterans to Washington, DC to visit their memorial for free.  According to officials the Veterans ranged from their late 80s to mid-late 90s with the oldest being 101 years old.

A pre-flight ceremony was held to honor the veterans at 8:00 a.m. with the flight departing at 9:40 a.m.  The veterans returned to Albany at 9:30 p.m.
