EAST GREENBUSH - An Albany woman is facing several charged after police say she led them on a chase from East Greenbush to Watervliet.

East Greenbush Police say 53 year-old Nancy Esmay was stopped on Columbia Turnpike Wednesday afternoon for speeding.  After police say she became belligerent, she then drove off.

Police from several agencies attempted to pull her over on I-90 and 787.  Esmay finally stopped after crashing her 2003 Honda on 23rd and 12th Avenue in Watervliet.

Esmay faces charges of unlawfully fleeing police in a motor vehicle, reckless endangerment, reckless driving, driving while impaired by drugs, and leaving the scene of an accident.

She was arraigned in East Greenbush Town Court and sent to the Rensselaer County Jail.
