New York man pleads guilty to tooth-pulling charge

GALLUPVILLE, N.Y. (AP and CBS6) -- A Schoharie County man charged with using pliers to pull three of his 8-year-old foster daughter's permanent teeth has pleaded guilty to assault.

Steven Walker entered an Alford plea on Friday, which allows him to plead guilty while insisting on his innocence. Walker says he has no knowledge of what happened to the girl's teeth.

Police say the child has been placed in another foster home.

Walker is expected to be sentenced to four years in prison and three years of post-release supervision on January 7.
