Medical marijuana bill passes NYS Assembly
Albany-- The NYS Assembly approved the medical marijuana bill around 2:50 am.
It covers about a dozen conditions including cancer, epilepsy, multiple Sclerosis, HIV and AIDS.
Medical marijuana would be available to patients through vapor, pills or oil--it could not be smoked.
Trained doctors registered with the state could prescribe it and the Department of Health would run the program.
The bill is expected to be voted on by the Senate on Friday morning.
