Campaign signs stir up controversy

MOREAU -- On the day before the federal primary, campaign signs are stirring up controversy.

A Town Board member in Moreau, who once accused Democrats of having a campaign sight that was larger than town code allows, is now being accused of having a noncompliant sign on his property. The two signs at the heart of the issue are a Matt Doheny sign on a barn at board member Todd Kusnierz's property on Gansevoort Road and an Elise Stefanik sign at the corner of Route 9 and Nolan Road.

A resident wrote an anonymous letter to the board pointing out that both signs are too large.

Stefanik and Doheny are running against each other for the Republican nomination for the 21st Congressional District. That district covers parts of Saratoga, Fulton, Warren and Washington Counties.
