Police: Traffic stop leads to discovery of more than a pound of pot

GUILDERLAND -- A routine traffic stop led to a drug bust on I-87 in Guilderland.

Troopers pulled over Abraham Rios, 40, for allegedly speeding. That's when cops say they discovered he was driving on a suspended license. His passenger, a 25-year-old woman, only had a learners permit, so the vehicle had to be towed. Before the car could be towed, Troopers say they found more than a pound of marijuana in the car.

Both the driver and the passenger were arrested; however, Rios is the only one facing charges.
