Juvenile arrested for threat against school
BALLSTON SPA - Ballston Spa Police said a 15-year-old was arrested Tuesday for allegedly making a threat against an elementary school. Police are not releasing the name of the teen because of his age.
Ballston Spa police said a 15-year-old boy called a 14-year-old boy Tuesday afternoon and asked if he wanted to "shoot up the elementary school." An adult heard that and called police.
Police said they don't believe there was any actual danger behind that threat, but it is being taken seriously. Police say the 15-year-old is being charged with aggravated harassment.
Police said no specific school was named in the alleged threat. There are several different elementary schools in the district.
The school district said the 15-year-old is a student in Ballston Spa, that the district has a code of conduct and that the student will face discipline through the school.
The district posted this statement on its website. It said it also emailed parents.
