4 employees bitten by dog at Mohawk Hudson Humane Society

MENANDS - An incident with a dog at the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society has sent 4 to the hospital with injuries.

The Mohawk Hudson Humane Society Director of Operations, Tina Murray, says a pit bull mix was brought into the shelter by animal control a few days prior.  After a staff member administered a rabies vaccine, she was then bitten as she was leaving the kennel.

Others then rushed in to help and were also bitten.

All four were bitten with injuries to the torso, legs and other areas, and are being evaluated at Albany Medical Center.

Officials say the dog was put down, and that all staff members were following procedures when the incident happened.
