Body of missing rafter found in Malta

MALTA -- Authorities say they have recovered a body from the Kayderosseras Creek in Malta.

Officials have confirmed that it is the body of a rafter who went missing during severe weather on Friday. The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office has identified the woman as Diana Henderson, 52, from Milton.

They say the discovery was made on a small island between Malta Avenue and North Line Road. Authorities say the body was discovered around 10:15 on Monday morning by the Environmental Conservation Police.

The victim was reported missing after police say she fell off while tubing on the Kayaderosseras Creek.  Officials say a group of 5 was rafting on the creek when they missed their exit point from fast moving water.

An adult male and three children were able to get out of the raft, however the victim was not.

The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office along with the Malta Ridge, Ballston Spa and Arvin Hart Fire Departments launched a search and rescue mission including patrols on all bridges and a search of the creek by air boat.
