Snow and Gusty Wind on Tuesday - Poor Travel Conditions Expected

A Nor'easter  is expected to impact the region today, but the impact around the Capital Region looks to be on the lighter side, as the storm takes a more Easterly track. Snow will become steadier from SE to NW this morning, with snowfall of varying intensity through this afternoon and evening.  A gusty NNW wind from 15-20 mph at times will cause blowing and drifting of the very dry snow creating poor visibility and hazardous travel conditions at times through late tonight. General Storm accumulations in the Capital Region of 2-6" are expected, with higher amounts across western New England.

Man dies after disturbance at Church

INDIAN LAKE - State Police are investigating an incident at a church in Indian Lake that led to the death of a man.

Police say that 44-year-old Jason Berg entered St. Mary's Church and starting shouting obscenities and throwing objects at people.  Police say Berg began advancing towards the Priest when several parishioners restrained him.  Berg violently resisted being subdued and then became unresponsive.  Police say he was armed with a loaded .45 caliber pistol, a spare magazine, several rounds of ammunition and a pocket knife.

Police then requested Ambulance Corps who administered CPR but was unsuccessful.  Berg was then pronounced dead. 

Police say that several parishioners reported hearing gunshots but a search of the scene resulted in no evidence of gunshots.

Police are still investigating the incident.
