Vermont Police say man fled head-on accident

MARLBORO, VT - Vermont State Police are asking for help after they say they received reports of a head-on crash in which one of the people involved allegedly fled the scene.

Police say they responded to a report of a two vehicle head-on crash on June 25 at around 5:24 p.m. 

They say that their investigation revealed that a Volkswagen Passat was traveling eastbound on Highley Hill Road when it crossed the center line and hit a Buick Century heading westbound.  Both vehicles sustained major front end damage and are considered a total loss according to police. 

Police say that the driver of the Buick, identified as 27-year-old Rebecca Fournier, told them that the driver of the Volkswagen fled the scene and told her not to report his presence to police.  Fournier as well as the two passengers of the Volkswagen were sent to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital for evaluation and treatment.  The passengers of the Volkswagen also confirmed the driver's disappearance. 

Police are asking anyone with information about the accident or about the person who drove the Volkswagen are being asked to call them at (802) 241-5355.
