Man arrested for allegedly stealing 10 cents

ALBANY -- A Pennsylvania man was arrested in Albany for allegedly stealing 10 cents from a woman.

Charlie Phelps, 21, from Broomall, Pennsylvania, was arrested on Friday and charged with robbery and criminal possession of a weapon. Police responded to the scene of the alleged crime around 10 a.m.. When they arrived, the victim told them that she was approached by Phelps, who demanded money. According to the victim, Phelps displayed a hypodermic needle and then forcibly stole 10 cents from her before fleeing the scene.

Bystanders who came to the woman's aid reportedly followed the suspect to a nearby location and alerted the cops to his whereabouts.

Phelps was arraigned and remanded to the Albany County Jail.
