Minnesota woman killed in accident after fleeing police

GHENT - A woman from Minnesota was killed in an accident Saturday night after allegedly fleeing from a traffic stop.

The Columbia County Sheriff's Office say 26 year-old Kasandra  Solverson was pulled over by a deputy around 11:45 Saturday night for reckless driving on Route 9.

When the officer approached the vehicle, Solverson allegedly took off.

Officials say by the time the Deputy had caught up to the vehicle, Solverson traveled over into the southbound lane striking the pick-up truck sending three to the hospital.

19 year-old Kyle Macfarlane and two passengers, 23 year old Timothy Laraway Jr. and 24 year old Brian Macfarlane, were all transported to Albany Medical Center.

Kasandra Solverson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are investigating if drugs or alcohol are involved.
