'Fizz, Boom, Read' to help kids read

SCHENECTADY - The goal of getting kids and teens to read over the summer months is as close as your local library.

The New York State Summer Reading Program kicked off at the Schenectady Public Library.  "Fizz, Boom, Read" is just one of the summer reading programs geared at helping children improve their reading skills.

Officials say the program uses games and activities to motivate and get kids enthused about reading during the summer months.
