Man arrested after vehicle pursuit

ALBANY - Albany Police say they arrested an Albany man after he allegedly led police on a chase with his infant child in the car.

Police say they responded to the 200 block of South Allen Street for a report of a man with a gun who had fled the scene following a domestic dispute.  When they arrived, police say they were told by the mother of the child involved that the father had left with the child and was armed with a handgun.

Police say when they spotted the vehicle on Bertha Street and attempted to stop it, the driver, identified as 55-year-old Gregory Parker, refused to stop and a pursuit began.  Police claim that Parker made several comments that created concern for the well-being of himself and the child.

According to police the pursuit ended without an incident on South Allen Street and Parker was taken into custody.

Parker was charged with Menacing, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Reckless Endangerment, Unlawful Fleeing, and Resisting arrest.
