Hudson man crashes stolen car

HUDSON - Columbia County Sheriff says that a Hudson man was arrested after he crashed a car that he stole.

Sheriff David Bartlett says 18-year-old Tavaris Grant was seen driving south on Third Street without any headlights on.  Officials say that while deputies attempted to stop the car, Grant accelerated down Union Street and struck five parked cars and then fled on foot.

Authorities were able to apprehend Grant where they say he made admissions to the crimes.

Officials say he was charged with Fourth Degree Grand Larceny, Third Degree Unlawful Fleeing of a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle, Misdemeanor Driving While Intoxicated and Reckless Driving, and a violation of Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.
