Knox man sentenced for setting own home on fire

ALBANY COUNTY -- A Knox man was sentenced to prison on Thursday after he admitted to setting his own home on fire and threatening the first responders sent to the scene.

Kenneth Fortuin was sentenced to 2 1/3 to 7 years on Thursday morning in Albany County Court. He pleaded guilty to arson in April for the fire on Saddlemire Road in February.

When crews arrived on the scene, they found Fortuin had used trees to block access to his property. He was also threatening to shoot the responders if they tried to get near the fire.
