Albany Medical Center supplies Albany P.D. with bicycles to make neighborhood safer

ALBANY - Albany Medical Center and the Albany Police are working together to make the Park South neighborhood safer.

Albany Medical Center has provided the Police department with new patrol bicycles to help patrol areas near the campus, as well as provide a greater police presence.

Chief Krokoff said the bikes are important "because they remove the physical and psychological barriers often associated with officers in police cars. They foster a more personal interaction between community members and police officers, which helps enhance trust and reduce the fear of crime in Albany neighborhoods."

Albany Medical Center has a history of providing resources to the Albany Police dating back 20 years, including office space on campus and technology to assist with law enforcement.
