Police arrest suspect in Schenectady stabbing

SCHENECTADY -- Police say a woman has been arrested in connection with a stabbing that happened on Monday morning.

Alishama Johnson, 32, has been charged with burglary, assault, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child for the incident, which happened around 10 a.m. in a home on the 1000 block of Stanley Street, near Duane and Brandywine Avenues. Officials say the victim, Dontray Lunday, 34, suffered a stab wound to the face.

The victim was taken to Ellis Hospital. Authorities say the wounds do not appear to be life threatening.

Officials say Johnson is an ex-girlfriend of the victim. She allegedly forced her way into the apartment and stabbed Lunday. Police say the couple's children were present during the incident, which is why Johnson has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
