RPI kicks off Science Camp

TROY -- Middle schoolers are ditching video games in favor of a heavy dose of science and math this summer.

Students from all over the Capital Region were at RPI in Troy this morning for the ExxonMobil Bernard Harris Summer Science Camp. Some big names were on hand to help kick off the two-week program, including former astronaut Bernard Harris, a veteran of two space shuttle missions and the first African-American to ever spacewalk.

This year, students will have the chance to work alongside Harris, engineers and RPI faculty to create and test their very own Mars Lander-inspired devices.
