Poll shows divide over update casino

LOUDONVILLE - A new Siena Poll was released Monday night showing that some divide still remains when it comes to the topic of a casino in upstate New York.

The poll says that 44% of those polled in the Capitol Region are in favor of the casino.  40% of those polled are opposed to it.

In the Catskills and Hudson Valley region, 48% said that they are in favor of the casino.

The poll also stated that voters viewed traffic problems and increased crime as the biggest disadvantage of a casino in the area.

Those who voted said that local job creation and tax revenue for local governments would be the biggest benefits.
