Snow and Gusty Wind on Tuesday - Poor Travel Conditions Expected

A Nor'easter  is expected to impact the region today, but the impact around the Capital Region looks to be on the lighter side, as the storm takes a more Easterly track. Snow will become steadier from SE to NW this morning, with snowfall of varying intensity through this afternoon and evening.  A gusty NNW wind from 15-20 mph at times will cause blowing and drifting of the very dry snow creating poor visibility and hazardous travel conditions at times through late tonight. General Storm accumulations in the Capital Region of 2-6" are expected, with higher amounts across western New England.

Police: Bus in fatal crash had no brake problems

LAKE LUZERNE, N.Y. (AP and CBS6) -- Authorities say no mechanical problems have been found on a bus that crashed while transporting passengers for an Adirondack river excursion company, killing a 15-year-old employee.

State police say that an analysis of the brake system of the tubing company bus found the brakes to be in working order. The 77-year-old man who was driving the former school bus when it crashed last Saturday told police that the brakes failed when he tried to make a turn in Lake Luzurne.

The bus overturned and nearly landed in the Hudson River. Tubby Tubes worker Hunter Scofield was killed and several of the 33 other people on board were injured. The teen's funeral was held Thursday.

The driver hasn't been charged but police say their investigation is continuing.
