Police release name of woman killed in Wednesday accident

GUILDERLAND - State Police are investigating after a car burst into flames after an accident on the Northway killing an Albany woman.

Police say the single car accident occurred back on Wednesday afternoon after 41 year-old Julie White attempted to change lanes near the Crossgates Mall ramp and struck the guide rail.

The car then went airborne, landing onto the driver's side and burst into flames from a fuel leak.

The accident shut down all southbound lanes of the Northway south of the I-87/I-90 interchange, which remained closed for several hours.
