Woman stabbed, home set on fire

UPDATE: SCHENECTADY-- A Schenectady Man for attacking a woman and setting fire to her home.

50-year-old Campbell Everett is charged with Arson, Assault and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

Police say Everett got into an argument with a woman inside a home on Michigan Avenue home Monday morning when it turned physical.

Police say he hit the victim in the head with a dangerous instrument and then set fire to the home.

Everett is in Schenectady City Lock-up awaiting arraignment.


SCHENECTADY -- Police say a woman was stabbed on Monday and her home set on fire.

Shortly after 9 a.m., authorities were called to a home at 322 Michigan Avenue for a medical call. When they arrived, they found the woman had been stabbed multiple times in the torso. While they were treating her, they discovered a fire in the attic of the home.

Officials say someone has been detained. That person is believed to be responsible for both the stabbing and the fire and investigators say the person was known to the victim.

Police have not released the identity of the suspect or the victim. They say the woman was transported to Ellis hospital for treatment, her condition is unknown at this time.
