Significant Winter Storm Possible From Monday Night Through Tuesday

An area of low pressure will track to our south through Monday.  Some light snow should develop through Monday afternoon and evening as a result.  The low pressure will then rapidly intensify off of the Northeast coast Monday night and Tuesday.  Uncertainty remains as to the exact track of this low pressure, but if it tracks close enough to the coast, portions of the area could see a significant snowfall.

Massachusetts lawmakers gear up for final push

BOSTON (AP) -- The Massachusetts Legislature is gearing up for the final two days of its formal session with a handful of major bills still awaiting action.
The 19-month session ends Thursday. Lawmakers can continue meet informally after that, but only to consider routine or non-controversial measures.
Among bills that are still pending is one calling for sweeping changes to the state's gun laws. House and Senate negotiators are trying to reach a compromise after the Senate stripped out a House-passed provision that would give police chiefs more discretion in issuing permits to own rifles and shotguns.
Other bills awaiting final action include a proposal to toughen domestic violence laws and a bill designed to tighten reporting requirements for independent political expenditures, including those made by political action committees known as super PACs.
