Education Commissioner speaks to teachers

ALBANY -- All week, hundreds of educators from around the state have gathered in Albany for Common Core training.

On Friday, the last day of the training, Education Commissioner John King addressed the teachers. He says the event is much needed. "This is an opportunity for people to share with each other what's working," he says.

The new standards are designed to make sure students across the country are being held to the same skill levels in math and English.
