Local school adminstrator accused of falsifiying teaching credentials

NORTH GREENBUSH -- Officials say a local school administrator falsified his teaching credentials.

Herman McLean was the provisional principal of Vanderheyden Hall School on Cooper Hill Road in North Greenbush. But on Saturday, police arrested him and charged him with criminal impersonation, forgery, and five counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument.

Officials say the arrest was the result of a month-long investigation. McLean had been a provisional principal for about 4 months when officials discovered his credentials may have been falsified. Prior to his position as principal, he worked as a math teacher at the school since June 2013.
