3000 rubber ducks invade Glens Falls waterway

GLENS FALLS - Around 3000 rubber ducks invaded a Glens Falls waterway to raise money for non-profit organizations around the area.

Saturday was the 24th Annual Million Dollar Duck Race and Family Fun Day.  Ducks were dropped into Haviland Cove to race.  The first one to cross the finish line won $2014.  There was also a million dollar ducky!

There were also other activities including music, pony rides, face painting, a bounce house, old-fashioned yard games, police vehicles and fire trucks, a corn box, and others.

The Duck Race is organized by the Kiwanis Club to benefit five area non-profit organizations and the Glens Falls Kiwanis Club Foundation.  The organizations include Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Southern Adirondacks, Greater Glens Falls Senior Center, Warren Washington CARE Center, Moreau Community Center and CWI.   The Foundation provides college scholarships to area Key Club members who actively volunteer in their communities.
