Deteriorating sense of smell could be associated with Alzheimer’s

(NEWSOURCE) Your sense of smell could be an indication of Alzheimers disease.

Scientists say new research shows that a decreased ability to correctly identify odors could be associated with the loss of brain cell function.

The findings were reported at the Alzheimers association international conference in Denmark this weekend.

Researchers also found that an eye exam could help in early diagnosis of Alzheimers.

While more research is needed, doctors say these findings are promising because it would make detection less invasive and could allow for earlier treatment.
