MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW STORM WED. AM THROUGH WED. NIGHT

Low pressure developing off the Southeast coast will quickly move northeast tracking south of New England through Wednesday night as colder air arrives to produce a moderate to heavy snow storm for much of the region.  Snow will develop quickly Wednesday morning and fall heavily at times through the afternoon and evening before tapering off and ending before daybreak on Thursday.  Expect difficult travel conditions with snow packed roads and low visibility through the duration of this storm.  Click Here for the CBS6 Weather Forecast Page

Summer Food Service Program offers free food to Albany kids

ALBANY -- Just because school's out, doesn't mean kids don't need a good meal.

On Wednesday, The Albany Housing Authority announced it will be participating in the 2014 Summer Food Service Program. They say they will provide free meals to kids 18 years old and younger at the following locations:

1) AA Cultural Center, 135 South Pearl St from 7/7 to 8/8, Mon - Fri 12:00-1:00 p.m.

2) Albany United Methodist Church, 340 First Street from 7/7 to 8/7, Tues-Thurs. 9:00 - 10:00 a.m., 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.

3) American Little League Facility Corner of Krank St. and First Ave. from 7/7 to 8/7, Mon-Fri 8:30-9:30 a.m., 12:00-1:00 p.m.

4) Arbor Hill Community Center, 47 North Lark St. from 7/7 to 8/15, Mon-Fri 8:30-9:30 a.m., 12:00-2:00 p.m.

5) Arbor Hill Community Center, 50 Lark Street from 7/8 to 8/7, Mon - Fri 8:30 - 9:30 a.m., 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.

6) College of Nano Scale Science and Engineering, 257 Fuller Road from 7/14 to 8/8, Mon-Fri 9:00-10:00 a.m., 12:15-1:15 p.m.

16) Trinity Institution, 15 Trinity Place from 7/7 to 8/15, Mon-Fri 9:00-10:00 a.m., 11:45-1:00 p.m. 

17) Union Missionary Baptist, 1 Morton Avenue from 8/18 to 8/22, Mon - Fri 8:30 - 9:00 a.m.                

18) VI Community Center, 844 Madison Ave. from 6/30 to 8/22, Mon-Fri 8:30-9:30 a.m., 11:45-1:00 p.m.             

In New York State about 400,000 children a day will be receiving these meals throughout the summer.              

Additionally, the city School District of Albany is participating in the program. They will provide free meals for children ages 18 and under at the following schools:

1) Albany High School, 700 Washington Ave., Breakfast 7:30-8:45 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., July 7-Aug. 15

2) Arbor Hill Elementary School, 1 Arbor Drive, Breakfast 8-9 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., July 7-Aug. 15

3) Delaware Community School, 43 Bertha St., Breakfast 8-8:30 a.m. and lunch from noon-12:30 p.m., July 7-Aug. 1

4) Eagle Point Elementary School, 1044 Western Ave., Breakfast 8-8:30 a.m. and lunch from noon-12:30 p.m., July 7-Aug. 1

5) Giffen Memorial Elementary School, 274 South Pearl St., Breakfast from 8-9 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., July 7-Aug. 15

6) New Scotland Elementary School, 369 New Scotland Ave., Breakfast 8-8:30 a.m. and lunch from noon-12:30 p.m, July 7-Aug. 1

7) North Albany Academy, 570 North Pearl St., Breakfast 8-9 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m, July 7-Aug. 15

8) Philip Schuyler Achievement Academy, 676 Clinton Ave,.Breakfast 8-9 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m, July 7-Aug. 15

9) Pine Hills Elementary School, 41 North Allen St., Breakfast 8-8:30 a.m., lunch from noon-12:30 p.m., July 7-Aug. 1

10) Sheridan Preparatory Academy, 400 Sheridan Ave., Breakfast 8-9 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., July 7-Aug. 15

11) Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School, 100 Elbel Court, Breakfast 8-9 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., July 7-Aug. 15

12) Thomas O'Brien Academy of Science and Technology (TOAST), Lincoln Park, Breakfast 8-9 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., July 7-Aug. 15

The summer food service program is a federally funded program administered by the state's education department.
