Landlord: tenant threats lead to standoff in Albany

The man who lives at 880 Lark Drive in Albany told CBS6 News he had decided to finally say something to his upstairs tenant of fourteen months after he heard a three booming noises while trying to rest around 1:30 p.m. Thursday. Instead, says 71-year-old Felix Bassey, he found the man in his hallway with a gun, threatening to shoot if Bassey didn't back up into his bathroom.

Bassey says he secretly called 911, bringing police to his house in force, including the Emergency Services Team, trained to go into homes and end dangerous episodes. After five hours, they found no one in Bassey's home.

Bassey said his lawyer was planning to begin eviction proceedings against his tenant Friday. Police said they would continue investigating to see who, if anyone, entered Bassey's home.
