Teen who jumped off Dunn Memorial Bridge faces prison time

ALBANY -- One of the teens who jumped off the Dunn Memorial Bridge after a high-speed chase is now facing 9 years in prison.

Jayvon Daniels, 17, pleaded guilty to criminal possession of a weapon on Monday. The District Attorney says Daniels was in the back seat of a car that matched the description of a car connected to a shooting the night before. The driver led police on a chase from Troy into Albany County where the car crashed into a guardrail on Dunn Memorial Bridge.

Daniels threw a gun over the railing before jumping off the bridge. He fell 40 feet and was seriously injured. He will be sentenced on September 8th.

The driver pleaded guilty to drug charges and the other passenger pleaded guilty to lesser charges.
