Occasional Snow To Continue Into the Evening, Slow and Slick Travel Persisting

Patchy areas of light snow wil persist through the evening with brief localized bursts of moderate snow possible through 8pm.  Additional snow accumulations will be spotty and light, generally 1" or less through the evening.  The cold air in place will continue to support slow and slippery travel conditions with less traveled roads, parking lots, and sidewalks remaining snow covered through the night.

ValleyCats fall again; lost 7 of 8

Troy, NY - The Tri-City ValleyCats may have clinched the Stedler Division on Monday, but they continue not to look like a New York-Penn League championship contender.

On Tuesday, they lost for the seventh time in their last eight games, 2-1, to Vermont at Joe Bruno Stadium.  Lake Monsters starting pitcher worked six brilliant innings, allowing only a Mott Hyde line drive single in the 5th.

Tri-City reliever Randall Fant allowed an RBI double to John Nogowski in the 7th which turned out to be the winning run.

Vermont centerfielder J.P. Sportman, of Schenectady, went 1-4 with a single.

Tuesday was "Track Night" at The Joe.  And so the ValleyCats wore specially designed uniform tops that resembled silks worn by the jockeys at Saratoga Race Course.  The new look did nothing to help the outcome for Tri-City.

The ValleyCats will try to salvage their series finale Wednesday night, with only six games remaining in the regular season.
