Riverview Road to close westbound Tuesday, for up to two weeks
REXFORD -- Riverview Road in Rexford will be closed to westbound traffic between Nott Road and Route 146 for up to two weeks, starting Tuesday, May 30.
The NYS Department of Transportation reports the closure is for work to replace a culvert related to the Rexford Bridge project.
The road will remain open to eastbound traffic, but will be restricted to vehicles that are 10 feet wide or less, such as passenger vehicles and school buses -- but not oversized loads.
Westbound traffic will be detoured north on Nott Road to Route 146 westbound and then south toward the Rexford Bridge. A temporary traffic signal will be installed at the intersection of Nott Road and Route 146 to assist with traffic flow.
All residences and businesses located within the closed segment of westbound Riverview Road will remain accessible, including the Edison Club and Riverview Medical Park/New York Oncology Hematology.
Motorists will not be able to access Stewart's at the Route 146 intersection by traveling westbound on Riverview Road.
The DOT reminds drivers that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone, and that convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in suspension of the driver's license.
