WHAM ABC13 Rochester :: Air Quality Alerts - Air Quality

Advisory Definitions

This graphic is active throughout the year and will alert you to CODE ORANGE air quality episodes for either elevated concentrations of ground level ozone, which most typically occur during hot humid stagnant air masses in the summer, or for unusually high concentrations of particulate matter, which is less common, but can occur anytime during the year. Counties or regions under a CODE orange air quality alert will be shaded orange on the graphic. If no counties on the graphic are shaded orange it means the air quality is either good or moderate.
