Road Trippin': Lenox

LENOX, MA (WRGB--From the lively beat of Boz Scaggs doing a sound check to the sounds of a galaxy far, far away and even the peace and quiet only nature can provide.

There's a little bit of everything on the 530 acres of Tanglewood.

"What makes Tanglewood special, its a unique blend of Nature, music, the Boston Symphony, the Boston Pops, a lot of great popular artists," said Boston Symphony Managing Director Mark Volpe.

Popular and diverse.

In less than a month, Tanglewood hosted Boz Scaggs, James Taylor, and composer John Williams, and those are just the guests.

Tanglewood is also the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, bringing one of the largest collections of musicians in the country right to our back yard, said Volpe.

In addition to world class music Volpe says you should come and experience the mountains, lakes and community that make Lenox and Stockbridge a one-of-a-kind experience.

"If you've just come for the concert then you've missed a good part of the experience. The Berkshires are probably the premiere cultural resort. if you care about art, music, dance, theater, this is probably the best place to be in the United States," he said.
