Calls for gubernatorial debate are growing louder
ALBANY, N.Y. (WRGB) Will they or won't they? The calls for a gubernatorial debate are growing louder, but it's still mostly silence from the camp of Governor Andrew Cuomo.
There was one debate between the governor and challenger Cynthia Nixon prior to the Democratic primary. But now that the general election is only 2 1/2 weeks away, there is no sign of Cuomo sitting down to go one-on-one with Republican challenger Marc Molinaro.
Molinaro tells Greg Floyd this week he's ready to debate at the drop of a hat.
Major newspaper in NYC have been calling for a debate the past couple of days. The New York Post has the governor photoshopped on a chicken suit on Thursday’s cover. The Cuomo campaign has not responded after being asked if the governor is willing to debate.
They have also not responded to requests for a sit down interview. The minor party candidates have also said they would like to get on stage with the governor.
