Albany Airport firefighter fighting for his life

ALBANY, N.Y. (WRGB) - In a series of moving Facebook posts written with raw emotion, Chelsea Woodward chronicles her husband Josh's fight for his life.

Josh was sent to the hospital last weekend after an infection put him in septic shock. At one point, Woodward was scared that her husband was on his death bed.

On Friday there was a turn for the better. Josh opened his eyes.

She's been sharing stories of him on social media to a growing number of supporters. She started the group "Woodward Strong" that already has more than 40,000 likes. Josh is also getting support from local businesses. The company Twill is making custom hats and sweaters with the Woodward Strong logo.

Woodward's wife says the support is overwhelming, but they still have a long road to recovery.
