Albany Police: Albany man arrested on drug, gun charges

ALBANY, NY (WRGB) Police in Albany have arrested an Albany man after investigators say he was found to be in possession of drugs and a loaded handgun.

Police say back on Saturday, 40 year old Jamal Turner was taken into custody at around 9:30 AM. Police say he was located inside afederal probationer's home with a quantity of ecstasy and marijuana.

After a search warrant was executed at 28 Wilkins Avenue, a loaded9mm handgun as well as 30 baggies of heroin were located inside of his residence.

Turner has been charged with Criminal Possession of a Loaded Weapon 2nd, Criminal Possession of Marijuana 4th and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th.

He was arraigned in the Albany City Criminal Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail.
