Albany police investigating multiple incidents of violence
ALBANY -- Police are investigating a fatal stabbing and six shootings, all of them happening overnight, just two weeks after the acting police chief and the mayor detailed a plan to counter a spike in violence.
Police say the stabbing happened early Thursday morning, in the 200 block of Orange Street. The victim later died at the hospital. Police say they believe this was an isolated incident, and they think the victim and attacker knew each other.
The shootings happened in three separate incidents. A woman and a man were shot last night. Then, early this morning, four people were shot on Lexington Avenue. All the victims are expected to survive.
