Albany Police: Man arrested, accused of firing handgun in two incidents

ALBANY, NY (WRGB) Albany Police say a man was arrested, accused in two incidents where shots were fired in the city of Albany.

Police say at around 4:00 PM, Wednesday, 19 year old Nashadi Chandler was arrested in the area of Washington Avenue and North Hawk Street.

Police say he was wanted on a bench warrant as well as an active warrant for violating probation.

Investigators say Chandler is accused of firing 4 shots into a group of people back on April 22 at around 7:00 PM. There were no injuries in that shooting.

Police say, back on June 13th at around 10:00 AM, he's accused of firing a handgun at a person walking near the intersection of Sherman and Lexington Avenue.

Chandler has been charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd and two counts of Reckless Endangerment 1st.

At the time of his arrest, police say he was in possession of a loaded .22 caliber handgun.

He was arraigned in the Albany City Criminal Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail.
