Albany Police: Man arrested, accused of stealing paramedic vehicle while on call.

ALBANY, NY (WRGB) Albany Police have arrested a 28 year old, accused of stealing an Albany Fire Department paramedic vehicle.

Police say members of the Albany Fire Department reported that Rescue 9 was stolen while emergency crews were on the scene of a medical call on the 400 block of Hudson Avenue just before noon on Monday.

Investigators say an Albany Officer responded after seeing the vehicle traveling westbound on Clinton Avenue near Quail Street.

Police say the driver stopped the vehicle after a brief pursuit, ending on the 500 block of Clinton Avenue.

Larry Blanding has been charged with Grand Larceny, Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer and Reckless Driving.

He is scheduled to be arraigned in the Albany City Criminal Court.
