MALTA, NY (WRGB) — State Police are investigating after a crash involving an ambulance and a box truck
According to Malta-Stillwater EMS, on January 23rd, at around 7:45, an ambulance taking a patient to Saratoga Hospital when there was a collision with a box truck in the area of the Locust Grove Motel on Route 9 in Malta.

The ambulance, according to officials slid into the ditch and caught fire after the patient was removed from the vehicle.
The patient and crew inside was taken to Saratoga Hospital by another ambulance to be treated for injuries.
Fire crews from Malta Ridge and Round Lake arrived to put out the fire that had engulfed the ambulance.
On Tuesday, State Police say the box truck attempted to make a U-turn when the Ambulance slammed into it.
We're told the snowy conditions prevented the ambulance from stopping and struck the truck in their own travel lane.
