AMSTERDAM, N.Y. (WRGB) -- Amsterdam police say they've arrested six people in connection to an investigation into illegal drug sales from an apartment.
Police say they obtained a search warrant and entered apartment number two on 9 Bayard St. Wednesday at 5:00 pm. The search stemmed from a three-month long investigation by the Amsterdam Police Detective Bureau and the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement team. They say they had received several complaints about the apartment from people living in the area.
Police say they located Diane Crial, Katherine Deluca, Carlos Rivera, Thomas King, and James Robinson inside the apartment. Officers also discovered crack cocaine, heroin, cash, and drug paraphernalia. All five were arrested and charged with two counts each of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. All are being held pending arraignment in Amsterdam City Court. Police also say Deluca was wanted on two separate bench warrants for failing to appear in Amsterdam City Court. Robinson was also wanted by state officials as a parole absconder out of Albany.
Officers also arrested Ohmeire Jones. They say he was seen leaving the apartment in a vehicle that had been reported stolen earlier in the day from Kimball Street. Detectives stopped the vehicle and arrested Jones for driving with a suspended license. They also found evidence linking Jones to the drug sales out of the Bayard Street apartment.
Jones was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. He is also being held pending arraignment in Amsterdam City Court.
