Arrest made in Slingerlands Trustco robbery

BETHLEHEM -- Police arrested a Hannacroix man Tuesday, in connection with the Jan. 6 robbery of the Trustco Bank in Slingerlands.

From the start of the investigation, Bethlehem Police were aware of similar robberies throughout the region.

Monitoring other bank robbery incidents, Bethlehem Police became aware of an arrest by City of Kingston Police on Jan. 18. After working with the Kingston police and comparing similar robberies in Albany and Rotterdam, police executed multiple search warrants to gain further evidence.

Police arrested Ryan J. O'Connor, 30, charging him with one felony count of Robbery in the third degree, and one misdemeanor count of Petit Larceny. He was arraigned in Bethlehem Court and remanded to jail without bail. He is scheduled to return to Town of Bethlehem Court on March 6 at 4 p.m.

O'Connor is currently incarcerated in Ulster County, as a result of his arrest by Kingston Police on Jan. 18.

The ongoing joint investigation is being handled by by Bethlehem Police, as well as Albany Police, Rotterdam Police, and Kingston Police.
