Colonie Police: 3 arrested in connection with smoke shop robbery

COLONIE, NY (WRGB) Colonie Police say they have arrested three people in connection with a robbery at a Loudon Road smoke shop.

Police say the female clerk reported that two men entered the Up in Smoke shop back on October 3rd, just before 10:00 PM. Once inside the store, police say the clerk was ordered to go into the bathroom.

The men, who were wearing masks, then stole the store's phone, the clerk's phone and around $450 in a cash bag.

Police say a witness also saw the vehicle leave the scene.

Hours after the robbery, the getaway vehicle was located on Western Ave.

22 year old Mackenzie Haynes and 24 year old Ty-Jaan King turned themselves in back on October 10th, 23 year old Jorge Colon was turned himself in on Monday, according to police.

All three were charged with Robbery, King was also charged with criminal mischief, accused of throwing the two phones out of the car window. They were later recovered on the i-87 entrance ramp from Route 9. Haynes was also charged with criminal nuisance, accused of providing false information.

All defendants were arraigned in Colonie Justice Court.
